A local Italian deli is celebrating its grand opening and the owners come to Carlo's Bakery, looking for a cake that's in the form of a custom deli meat case. It is Communion season the family looks to Buddy to create several cakes for his nieces and nephews. As Mary continues her job as consultant, her confidence in creating designs and working with clients grows.

Buddy and his team have their work cut out for them when a team of skydivers request a cake that they can take with them on a dive. Buddy then makes a special cake for his niece and Goddaughter Tessy in the form of a book, after being told she won a special writing competition.
