Estrella manages to sneak into Dr. Sánchez's office and unintentionally overhears a conversation in which he confirms that Érika is not pregnant and that he is only helping her out of affection for Rosalba and because of the money she gave him.

Érika is forced to confess to Fabián that she is not pregnant, as she made everything up because of the great love she has for him.

Érika breaks down in tears in front of Estrella, assuring her that she is tired of fighting for Fabián knowing that he will never love her. She is therefore willing to leave the town, since nothing ties her to the place where she grew up.
