A romantic, gothic temple in Scotland brings Lovejoy and Lady Jane closer together. Eric falls in love, and Tinker is all at sea.

Lovejoy loses everything after a dawn raid by the bailiffs and takes off on his own.

Lovejoy tricks Lady Jane into bidding for him in an illegal "ring" at an auction.
