Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer look back at brilliant builds and inspiring house-hunts that helped bring harmony to warring couples across the UK. In Wiltshire, Tim and Sonia couldn't decide whether to sell or renovate the home in which Tim had been raised. Tim was ready to move on to a fresh start but Sonia thought with a little work they could start their new chapter without having to move. Over in Warwickshire, Kirstie and Phil met Gill and John, who couldn't decide whether to make their inherited two-bedroom home their own or to sell up and find somewhere else.

Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer look back at some incredible home transformations that all cost less than £30,000 to complete. Referencing projects in Scotland, the East Midlands and Berkshire, they demonstrate that with smart planning, clever ideas and a bit of elbow grease, stunning results can be achieved without spending a fortune.

Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer recall previous projects involving problematic floorplans that leave properties with poor open plan flow and wasted space. They cite a two-bedroom chalet-style house in the picturesque West Yorkshire village of Clifford and an extended six-bed home in Stockport, Greater Manchester.
