A battered pregnant woman, suffering from, at first glance, complete amnesia, arrives at the Kaverin perinatal center. It turns out that this is accountant Yana Privalova, who is on the federal wanted list for embezzlement of a large sum. Kaverin organizes Yana's escape from the hospital by ambulance, and now Bragin is blackmailing him, threatening the safety of Yelagina and Marina. He demands that Kaverin hospitalize a wealthy patient, Larisa Odintsovo, in order to gain access to her business. Kaverin's new patient is a pregnant actress who is faking childbirth to avoid a fine. The woman falls under the supervision of traffic police lieutenant Sidorov, who turned out to be her school sweetheart. On the highway, Ageev and Marina are stopped by the police on a tip from Sorokin. Elagina saves the situation.

Kaverin goes to the forest house to help Yana Privalova, who is hiding there, and engages in a shootout with Bragin's men. Then he meets with Bragin himself and offers him a plan to take the business away from Odintsovo...
