Chase and his team are hired by a newspaper editor in order to track down the payroll of a big crime syndicate.

Investigator Dennis Chase and his staff plan a clever hoax to swindle a man out of money that was in turn swindled from a widow.

A wife is killed and her psychopathic killer leaves evidence at the scene that incriminates her husband. The dejected prisoner asks Chase to clear him out before the execution.
