The Carvers are incensed when they learn that not only is Colin Dowling pilfering employees away from their company, but he's also planning the annual "Boundary Days" festival that the Carver patriarch started. To make a statement, David and Will organize an alternate event for the town with a gigantic beach party at the base of the Mountain. Meanwhile, when David stands Max up, she plots revenge; and Shelly's awkward relationship with Sam worsens because of her new friendship with Michael Dowling.

The tension between David, Will and Maria continues to grow and things get even more complicated when Max forms an unlikely friendship with Maria. Meanwhile, David is put in an uncomfortable predicament when he is blackmailed by one of the Boundary Mountain employees about his involvement in the death of a friend.

Possessing incriminating information about David (Oliver Hudson) and the Tory Canyon accident, Travis and Colin strike a deal with David giving them control of the backside of The Mountain. Meanwhile, at the Carver's charity masquerade ball, a handsome millionaire courts Gennie while Shelly and Michael continue their flirtation.
