Four families experience life as a fishing community at the turn of the 20th century on an Anglesey island, but inexperience and rations quickly lead to frustration.

As the families enter their second week, the men head out to sea to try for a catch - but as rivalries and hunger take their toll, the fragile sense of community starts to fray.
