Detectives have to rely on forensic evidence to separate fact from fiction when the president of the Queensland Cat Protection Society is found stabbed to death in February 1998.

A young woman's body is found wrapped in plastic, dumped under a railway overpass in a suburb near Sydney's busy international airport; the only clue to her identity and that of the killer is a fingerprint found on a newspaper stuffed in her throat.
