Mauricio saves Miranda from some men who were trying to rape her on the beach. Together, they celebrate her birthday. Miranda arrives to teach her first class and is met with a surprise.

Miranda finds out that Mauricio is ten years younger than she is and is also underage. She now fears going to prison, since Florida laws punish having sexual relations with a minor with jail time.

Mauricio promises Miranda that he won't bother her again, but she can't get him out of her head. She recognizes the man who tried to rape her on the beach.
