Bill Clinton's presidency began and ended with controversy spanning from an inability to reform America's health care system to a sex scandal that led to impeachment.

Beginning with the Clarence Thomas/Anita Hill hearings, the '90s saw a succession of racially fueled events from Al Sharpton and the Crown Height riots, to Rodney King and the LA riots, to O.J. Simpson and his murder trial.

In the early 90s while George H. W. Bush was still the President of the United States, major political events markedly changed the world. These included the end of the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact, the reunification of Germany, Nelson Mandela's release from prison, the Persian Gulf War, and Bill Clinton becoming the 42nd President of the United States.
