The team members travel to Montsegur in France to investigate the massacre of hundreds of Cathars in 1244, as history is brought alive through intricate skeletal analysis.

The skeleton dubbed the Warrior of Janakkala, found in Finland. The swords buried alongside the man suggest a link between Christians and Pagans and it has been deduced the remains date from the 12th century.

Skeleton analysis is used to uncover more about medieval life, with this instalment focusing on a well-preserved knight found in St Bees, Cumbria. Presented by Tim Sutherland, Malin Holst and Simon Richardson.
